1.分号前后都是主句。

解析: although they tried是主句they failed的让步状语从句，并非主句，故错误。

主句;短语/短语;主句(错误)

According to African authorities; only about 35,000Pygmies exist today. ( X )

解析: according to African authorities是短语，并非主句，故错误。

2.分号后第一个单词的首字母要小写。

The cow is brown; It is also old. ( x)

The cow is brown;it is also old. ( V )

3.分号与句号

共同点:语法功能相似，都能分隔两个主句。

不同点: 1. 分号分隔的两个主句有逻辑关系。2.分号后第一个单词首字母小写。 .
